Also, the awarding ceremony organisers have mentioned Moscow in two more categories: World’s Leading Business Travel Destination and World's Leading Cultural City Destination.

Established in 1993, the World Travel Awards is considered one of the most prestigious tourism awards also called tourism Oscar.

The awarding ceremony took place at the Grand Final held in Muscat (Oman) on 28 November. In 2019, World Travel Awards have covered over 80 categories, such as the best hotels, airlines, the most attractive cities, resorts and landmarks. Over 1,000 participants applied for it in 2019.

In 2020, Moscow will host the Grand Final of the World Travel Awards for the first time, as decided by the award ceremony organisers.
