Parks and pedestrian areas

Learn about yoga varieties in the Moscow Department of Culture parks for free this summer. Yoga sessions for everyone will be held from 1 June to 31 August at 37 sites within the Yoga in Parks project.

150 experienced certified coaches will teach you wellness regimen. They will help anyone to choose a program both for beginners and for more experienced yogi. The sessions will take place either in the morning or in the evening and last 1 to 1.5 hours depending on the practice type.

Beginners will be offered to start with easy asanas (yoga poses). You will have an opportunity to learn more than 20 yoga varieties and master Qigong. Trainings comprise physical exercise, meditation and breathing exercises.

"Anyone is free to join walk-in training. Just bring your mat and have comfortable clothes on. In rainy weather, sessions will be held only in the parks with sheds like Goncharovsky and Babushkinsky parks, Fili, Vorobyovy Gory, Mitino Landscape Park, 50-Letiya Oktyabrya Park and Kuzminki Park. Trainings will not run with the temperature below +18°. Learn about schedule changes on parks' social media accounts and websites," said the Press Service of the Moscow City Park (Mosgorpark).

Some parks will offer not only classical yoga types, such as Hatha and Kundalini, but also some unusual ones. For example, the Museon Arts Park will teach Laughter Yoga (Hasyayoga). It involves breathing and easy physical exercises causing natural laughter and relax.

In the Hermitage Garden, you will master 'The Power of the Earth', a Taoist complex of articular gymnastics and breathing practices. These exercises are good for those suffering from chronic fatigue, back and muscle pain, leg swelling, insomnia and irritability.
