Pupils of the ‘Mosgormash’ children's technopark and school No. 627 will represent Russia at the international championship in aeronautical robotics and computer vision DJI RoboMaster Youth in China. The young people became the winners of the regional championship that was held on April, 17 in the ‘Technograd’ innovative and educational complex at VDNKh.

"Robots have long been used not only in industry and manufacturing but in our daily lives as well. It is not surprising that the younger generation learns the basics of robotics from primary school and they are helped by children's technology parks in Moscow. Today, 11 of the 18 existing children's technology parks are working with various programs in the field of robotics including smart home elements, space and underwater robotics, as well as microelectronics," Alexey Fursin, Head of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development of Moscow, noted.

The organizer of the competition, that took place in ‘Technograd’ at VDNKh, was the resource center. The young people’s skills were evaluated by certified trainers and judges from representatives of the Impulse and Flying Unmanned Systems companies. The latter is the official Russian distributor of DJI - the world leader in the production of multicopters, microcontrollers and video equipment, as well as the founder of the RoboMaster competition. A special feature of the RoboMaster Youth competition was that the participants controlled the robots through monitors, sitting with their backs to the track.

Eight teams from the capital's schools Nos. 508, 1547, 627, 2065, 1564, Moscow Technological College and ‘Moskva’ and ‘Mosgormash’ children's technoparks competed for the victory.

The RoboMaster International Robotics Competition has been held in China since 2015. Every year, more than 200 student teams from all over the world take part in it. The competition will take place when the restrictions are lifted and the epidemiological situation allows.

The Resource Center was established by the Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development last year. Among its tasks are the organization of Moscow championships and the effective models of additional education implementation, as well as the formation of a talent pool for leading Moscow enterprises.

Previously, the resource center held regional competitions in Moscow, such as The First Element and First Lego League. The children's ‘Mosgormash’ technopark serves as a base site for the participants training.
