Construction and renovation

Viewing balconies will appear on the embankments of Balchug Island. There will be three viewing decks installed over the Moscow River: two on the Raushskaya Embankment and one on the Sofiyskaya Embankment, as was reported in the municipal economy complex.

Their design incorporates metal frames and architectural concrete. The shape of the balconies will resemble a floating bridge in the Zaryadye Park. Reliable fences made of transparent impact-resistant glass will be installed along the perimeter. A rainwater drainage system is also provided. Each platform can accommodate up to 7-10 people.

Their installation will be completed in early September.

The improvement of Balchug Island is the largest project of creating a high-quality urban space in the center of the capital, which is implemented this year. Its main task is to divide the territory into historical and modern parts.

More green areas will appear. Thus, about 600 trees and over 11 thousand shrubs will be planted.

In total, 32 embankments with a total length of about 60 kilometers have been renovated in the city since 2011. A single comfortable walking route has been created in the historical part of the capital, along the embankments from the center of Moscow City to Taganskaya Square.
