Three Moscow museums win Intermuseum Awards

The 21st International Festival Intermuseum contest winners were awarded at the Manege Central Exhibition Hall. This year, the contest had more than 330 applications from 213 museums, with 20 projects reaching the final and three Moscow museums among the winners.

The State GULAG History Museum won The Best Educational Project category with its Memory Lesson project.

The special prize For Unconventional Approach to Exhibition Activities was given to the Believe the Pressed Items project presented by the Timiryazev Biological Museum. The State Darwin Museum project named 3D Subject. The Darwin Museum’s Collection got the special prize For the Use of Digital Technology in Custodial Activities, and the Voice of the North project was awarded the special prize For Network Interaction.

In addition, Moscow, as a partner region, received an official message of thanks from the Intermuseum Organizing Committee. The booth of Moscow museums was open all four festival days, offering 50 events for museum art professionals and amateurs.

Established in 1999, the Intermuseum Festival gathers over 3,000 experts from more than 400 museums of the world every year.
