The biggest race of Russia: registration for the Moscow Marathon opened

November 5, 2019

Register for the Moscow Marathon, Russia's most popular race to take place on 20 September 2020.

It is the first time the registration for the next year's race opens so early. It is typical of the largest marathons in the world, so that athletes could schedule their participation in advance.

16,000 places are available for the 42.2 km distance, with 16,000 places  for the 10 km distance. The marathon will also include corporate, handbike, wheelchair, and children's races.

The marathon is to cover 56 streets in the city centre. Marathoners will run along the Moskva River embankments, Sadovoye Koltso and Boulevard Ring, Krimsky Bridge, Tverskaya Street, Teatralny Proyezd, and the Kremlin walls to encounter Moscow City Business Centre's high-risers, Bely Dom (White House), four of the seven Stalinist high-risers, the Bolshoi Theatre, the Polytechnic Museum, the Kremlin and the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour. The picturesque route is to bring together a large number of athletes from around the world.

Marathon organisers annually support charitable foundations, help raising funds for their programs. By registering for the race, participants can make donations and help child patients.
