Superstar Cities: registration for the 10th Moscow Urban Forum is opened

Registration of participants for the Moscow Urban Forum which is scheduled for 1st to 4th of July in Zaryadye Park will continue until June 20. Application for participation may be filed online. The tenth anniversary forum is themed “Superstar Cities” - transformation experience. The number of participants is limited.

Forum Work Program has also been published on the forum website. Panel discussions and round tables, international sessions and keynote public talks will be held on July 1 and 2. On the opening day the Forum will be discussing global challenges faced by megalopolises and exploring the concept of stardom, highlighting successful projects and cases of urban transformations in different cities over the recent decade. The second day of the Forum will be devoted to discussing and forecasting new challenges, presenting advanced projects of a city of the future, developing international cooperation and dialogue between megapolises to find answers to the questions of cities of the future.

Because of the tense global epidemic situation, the Moscow Urban Forum - 2021 will be held in a mixed mode, which provides for routine offline participation of Russian and foreign speakers and the online joining of foreign speakers worldwide. The number of offline participants will be limited, but everyone may join the event on the forum website and ask questions via an interactive online platform that was elaborated for the 2021 forum.

The business program of the Moscow Urban Forum will be presented in nine tracks depicting the transformation of various spheres and sectors of urban life (urban leadership and management, urban environment and communities, transport and mobility, urban economy and business, culture and social well-being, as well as modernization of urban technologies and science).

Over 350 foreign and Russian speakers, managers, people of business, experts and architects are to part in the business program. Experts will discuss practices of modern sustainable cities, as well as the cases of megapolises that have held the world leadership for years, and the cities that are gaining popularity due to their unique features.

The two-day program will be finalized by the key speakers: American economist, professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Global Economy Prize (2019) laureate Daron Acemoglu, and world famous landscape architect Martha Schwartz (USA).

The Forum will also give the floor to the world-renowned urbanist professor at the London School of Economics and Political Science Ricky Burdett, Dutch architect, UNStudio founder Ben van Berkel, German architect Principal of Zaha Hadid Architects Patrick Schumacher, futurist, AI expert and one of the brightest representatives of technology domain in the South East Asia Ayesha Khanna and many other experts.

Within the framework of the forum, the second international congress Urban Health will be held, dedicated to the Urban Health issues. The business program comprises more than 90 sessions. The congress will be attended by David Vlakhov, M.D., Professor Emeritus of health and epidemiology at Yale University, president of the international community Urban Health, editor-in-chief of Journal of Urban Health, and Poppy Jaman, an international mental health expert and social entrepreneur, CEO and founder of City Mental Health Alliance.

Also, Zaryadye will host the Moscow Urban Fest until July 4, the largest open festival dedicated to urbanism, themed as “Re: the city. New era life.” Registration for the festival events will be specially announced.
