December 22, 2019

Journey to Christmas sports events will be one of the highlights of the grand New Year festivities.

There will be six large sports facilities arranged in the very heart of Moscow: high-line, tubing park, children's snowboard park, city spot (an urban snowboarding facility, including a slide and jibbing rails), a motorbike show ground and a 'space swing'. Shows and open training sessions will run from 31 December till 5 January. The events involve over a hundred professional athletes. 1,200 people will be able to participate in master classes in one hour.

8/1 Tverskaya Street will host a high-line show, acrobatics on a sling stretched between rooftops. Watch the aerial acrobatics show near 6/3 Tverskaya Street. Gymnasts will perform on a unique apparatus, a 'space swing' with 4 m amplitude. Young festival guests will also be allowed to swing.

A bike show will take place near 2 Okhotny Ryad Street. Stuntmen will drive at high speed on the inner surface of a metal sphere and perform various stunts, overcoming obstacles.

A snowboard park for children aged 3-6 will open next to the bike ground. Instructors specially trained to work with kids will entertain young visitors and make them interested in snowboarding.

Children up to 12 will like the tubing park located at 6/7 Tverskaya Street. At the beginning of each hour, professional snowboarders will show exciting stunts.

Athletes will also perform at the City Spot. This unique jibbing device (snowboarding on rails and other elements of urban architecture, in fact, it is a version of snowboarding without snow) will be located near 13/1 Mokhovaya Street.

On 31 December, 02:00 pm till 03:00 pm, the snowboard park next to 21 Novy Arbat Street will host a meeting with one of the best world snowboarders — Denis Bonus Leontyev. Visitors will have an opportunity to have a talk with the athlete and learn some stunts under the master's guidance. The snowboard park will be open on New Year's eve until 03:00 am.

Visitors of 15 festival ice rinks will be able to hear the Kremlin chimes. Admission is free, bring your own skates. Skating rinks on Tverskaya Square, Novopushkinsky Park and Revolyutsii Square will be open until 03:00 am. Besides, the ice theatres will offer entertainment shows with live music and hosts.
