COVID-19 vaccination for all Muscovites over 60 will begin on Monday, 28 December. The Russian Healthcare Ministry approved changes to the vaccine prescribing guidelines. Now Sputnik V is permitted for use in persons aged 18 and older.
Other groups of people eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine from 28 December include workers of public catering outlets, housing and utilities services, sport facilities, law enforcement agencies, non-profits and religious organisations, as well as volunteers. Whether senior citizens belong to any of the above groups does not matter.
Seventy vaccination centres are operating in the city at local outpatient clinics. They are open daily from 8 am to 8 pm. Appointments can be made two weeks in advance. All Muscovites aged 60 and older as well as residents aged 18 and older employed in the above listed industries are invited to sign up. When visiting a vaccination centre, residents will need to show their passports and mandatory health insurance policy. Workers of the selected industries will also need to show any proof of employment.
Large-scale COVID-19 vaccination started in Moscow in early December. The list of groups eligible for vaccination grows weekly.
