July 2

This summer, VDNKh guests will have an opportunity to enjoy the atmosphere of childhood, fight in a sea battle on the slot machine of the 1980s and have a glass of favourite soda with syrup. From 27 June on, the exhibits from the Museum of Soviet Slot Machines will be presented in the Russia Is My History Park (119/57 Prospekt Mira). Halls 3 and 4 are to host the exhibition, next to the main display dedicated to the 20th century. VDNKh visitors will see 'Sniper', 'Highway', 'Gorodki', 'Hockey' and other gaming machines popular 30 years ago

The exhibition will be open daily, except Monday, 10:00 am till 09:00 pm. Together with the ticket, you will get 15 tokens for slot machines.

"At the exhibition, visitors will view more than 50 operating machines that were installed in cinemas, hotels, railway stations and in the streets of the resort cities of the USSR in the 80s. Many machines from the Museum's collection are the only surviving examples of such devices," the Press Service of the Russia Is My History Park told.

They added that visitors will also be able to try the legendary Soviet '3 kopecks' soda with syrup or a '5 kopecks' milkshake provided by vending machines.

In addition, everyone may attend highlight tours conducted in Russian and English. You will hear about the entertainment industry in the USSR, and the phenomenon of arcade games, which preceded computer games. Tour groups will be formed every half hour. Prior registration is not required. For foreign tourists, special Museum information maps are to be issued, with slot machines' rules of the game in English.

The collection of the Museum of the Soviet Slot Machines has over 60 exhibits brought from different countries that had once been part of the Soviet Union. The Museum was opened in 2007, in the building of the Moscow Polytechnic University. Then it was moved to one of the oldest Moscow streets that is Kuznetsky Most Street. In the summer of 2015, the exhibition moved again to the historic building of the Popov-Dzhamgarovs Passage. The Museum's collection is regularly updated, so it is almost short of free room now. The new building for the Museum of Soviet Slot Machines is expected to be chosen through the year.

In addition, the Park boasts a spacious cinema, game quest rooms, an educational area, a bookstore and a media cafe. Master classes, lectures, concerts and tours are held for children and adults.
