Sculptors from six countries to create more than 70 ice and snow figures in Gorky Park

From January 2 to February 28, Gorky Park hosts the Snow and Ice in Moscow international festival. A total of 50 professional ice and snow sculptures will appear in the park during the festival. Their creation can be watched in real time. The festival is attended by masters from Russia, Finland, Italy, Uzbekistan, Belarus and the Donetsk People’s Republic.

The Russian team is represented by 23 cities, including Moscow, Aleksin, Perm, Nizhny Tagil, Alexandrov, Khimki, Kargopol, St. Petersburg, Izhevsk, Surgut, Korolev, Tolyatti, Vologda, Barnaul, Sochi, Petrozavodsk, Yakutsk, Salekhard, Khabarovsk, Ryazan, Yoshkar-Ola, Yekaterinburg and Nizhny Novgorod.

Together they are creating a space with ice sculptures, snow figures and six-meter snowmen that represent the regions of Russia.

An exhibition of the Disney channel was opened to the festival’s visitors, where six ice figures from animated cartoons such as Cold Heart, Moana, Mickey Mouse and his Friends, Gravity Falls and others are presented. Free snow sculpture workshops are offered every day. Snow figures can be created under the guidance of professionals and using a special tool.

The festival will be attended by actors, bloggers, musicians and writers. Together with the masters, they will create an alley of 16 star snowmen, where one can walk around and take a photo as a memory of the event. A theatrical and musical program is held from Friday to Sunday, and on February 23 a special program with interactive performances and professional actors from theaters Vysokiye Bratya, DaMy, Zanaves, Likk, Chyorny Kvadrat, Chydaki, Kanikuly, Pulsar and Sosferas theaters will take place.

Free to enter festival. The site is open daily from 11:00 a.m to 09:00 p.m. The festival program is available on the website.

The event takes place outdoors, so you won't need a QR code for attending it. However, guests are required to observe social distancing and wear masks.

Snow and Ice in Moscow is a great opportunity to extend the New Year holidays and have fun with family and friends. The festival is supported by the Moscow Government.
