Two Big Circle Line Metro stations, Aviamotornaya and Lefortovo, are to be opened by the end of this year. They will operate, at first, as a continuation of Nekrasovskaya Line currently under construction, as reported by the Deputy Moscow Mayor for Urban Development and Construction Marat Khusnullin.

“This year we expect two stations, Aviamotornaya and Lefortovo, to be commissioned. For the time being, they will operate as an extension of Nekrasovskaya Line. The progress is good. We even work a week ahead of schedule. I hope that they will be completed by the end of the year,” he noted.

Aviamotornaya and Lefortovo stations are the third section of the prospective Nekrasovskaya line. Nekrasovka, Lukhmanovskaya, Ulitsa Dmitriyevskogo and Kosino stations are the first section. It is planned to launch early in June.

The middle section, from Kosino to Nizhegorodskaya, is the most difficult. According to Marat Khusnullin, it has been recently decided to intensify the night shift.

“This section is the most intense one. We plan to bring it at least to construction readiness by the end of the year, and to open it for passengers as the best case scenario,” the Deputy Mayor emphasized.

Marat Khusnullin noted that during the construction of the Big Circle Line, the focus is on the construction of transport hubs to connect the new stations with the existing ones, as well as with railway platforms, land transport stops and Moscow Central Circle (MCC) stations.

Aviamotornaya station will be connected into a transport hub with the same-name station of the yellow line, land transport stops and the railway station of the Kazansky direction. There will also be a direct access from the vestibules to the multifunctional center to be built in place of the Lefortovo market.

Not only metro

The landscaping of adjacent grounds, including the old industrial zones, which will be replaced by residential complexes and parks, takes place as part of the construction of the BCL and the Nekrasovskaya line. Marat Khusnullin told about what awaits the former Serp I Molot Factory located next to Aviamotornaya station currently under construction.

“Serp I Molot industrial zone was a depressed area that did not work, caused losses, there were no jobs, there was pollution, clutter. Today it is fully built up, there is an approved development plan,” said Marat Khusnullin.

The areas for the renovation program have been allocated on the grounds of the former Serp I Molot industrial zone. Modern housing will be built there.

"We will build about 50,000 square meters of housing under the renovation program, because there are houses for renovation within walking distance from this zone," the Deputy Mayor added.

The pink metro line will connect Nekrasovka and the Nizhegorodsky district. The transport situation will improve for 800,000 Moscow residents — residents of Kosino-Ukhtomsky, Vykhino-Zhulebino, and Ryazansky districts. Kozhukhovskaya metro line will relieve the purple line.
