Resonance Consultancy has ranked Moscow 6th in the list of the best cities of the world.  Moscow has left behind Chicago, Singapore, Dubai and San Francisco.

The ranking mentions Zaryadye Park, the renovated Luzhniki Sports Complex, as well as Moscow museums, creative spaces and My Street program, which made Moscow even more comfortable for pedestrians.

'We are happy to see Moscow at the top of the world rankings. It is the best proof that we are moving in the right direction. The ranking took note of a number of factors, from comfortable space to landmarks such as Zaryadye, and to local facilities. I am sure that it's not the last time that we win,' said Moscow's Chief Architect, first Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Architecture and Urban Planning Sergei Kuznetsov.

The experts assessed the cities according to six criteria, such as development, comfort, infrastructure and attractions, business, people and entertainment. Moscow has been chosen the best city by the number of must-visit sites. The experts particularly appreciated museums and public spaces.

'Moscow is growing even more attractive, we and this study can confirm it. It is the 14th most popular search in the world. FIFA World Cup has surely contributed to this. Besides, Moscow has always been a convenient place to visit due to the well-connected airports. As for the metro, it has long been the envy of many world capitals,' said Sergei Kuznetsov.

The TOP 5 cities included London, Paris, New York, Tokyo and Barcelona.

Earlier, Moscow was the 38th in the Innovation Cities Global Index (2thinknow) ranking of innovative cities in the world, moving up 10 spots from last year.
