Muscovites will celebrate the City Day on 7 and 8 September according to the order signed by Sergei Sobyanin.

This year, Moscow’s 872th anniversary celebrations will coincide with final events of Flower Jam landscape design festival. The major celebrations are scheduled for the first Saturday of autumn, and on Sunday the public festivities will continue.

Muscovites will be offered master classes, sports and intellectual competitions, street performances, concerts and, certainly, fireworks.

Final dates for the City Day celebration are approved annually. The Moscow Law On Holidays of the City of Moscow allows for its celebration on the first or second Saturday in September.
