There will be extra ticket vending machines installed at eight metro stations with transfers to Moscow Central Diameters (MCD). In particular, more terminals are expected at Voykovskaya, Tushinskaya, Komsomolskaya and Mezhdunarodnaya stations. They will be moved from the least loaded stations.

‘After the launch of trains, the passenger traffic on the new public transport is to increase at the interchange stations of the Moscow metro. Passengers can use extra ticket vending machines to purchase travel cards or add MCD trips without any delays. The stations with terminals removed will still have enough devices to buy travel cards,’ said Roman Latypov, First Deputy Head of the Moscow metro.

In particular, Volokolamskaya station will still have five ticket vending machines after the rearrangement of terminals. Bulvar Rokossovskogo will have seven of them.

Transfer stations with extra ticket vending machines to be installed before the MCD opening:

— Delovoi Tsentr of the Big Circle Line;

— Voykovskaya;

— Okruzhnaya of Lublinsko-Dmitrovskaya line;

— Tekstilshchiki;

— Tushinskaya;

— Komsomolskaya of Sokolnicheskaya line;

— Mezhdunarodnaya;

— Vystavochnaya.

The demand for ticket vending machines in the metro and at the MCC has been regularly monitored. Devices that are not very popular with passengers are moved to overloaded stations.

New above-ground metro

The first two diameters are expected to launch by the end of the year. MCD-1 Odintsovo—Lobnya and MCD-2 Nakhabino—Podolsk will have 66 stations, with 27 of them providing transfer to the metro, Moscow Central Circle and radial railway lines.  Like the metro, the diameters will operate from 05:30 am till 01:00 am. During rush hours, headway will not exceed 5-6 minutes.

Soon, other diameters are expected to open, with routes to link Zelenograd and Ramenskoye, Aprelevka and Zheleznodorozhny, Domodedovo and Pushkino. Moscow Central Diameters will link different lines of the Moscow railway. With the new above-ground metro, passengers will cross Moscow in 40 minutes.

Moscow Central Diameters will have three tariff zones.  In the Central zone (for trips in Moscow within the boundaries of Mark —Setun and Volokolamskaya — Ostafyevo stations), passengers will be able to use all metro tickets added to Troika travelcard: Wallet tariff, tickets for 60 trips, 1 and 3 days, 30, 90 and 365 days (you will be able to add tickets for one and three days after the MCDs open). Transfer between the metro, the MCC and the MCD will be free. So, a passenger travelling along the MCD within Moscow would pay RUB 38.00 (including MCD, metro and MCC trips) at the Wallet Troika tariff.  Free transfer will be available within 90 minutes from the moment of the first ticket validation at the turnstile or on the validator, the same as with the MCC.

If you travel outside  Mark — Setun and Volokolamskaya — Ostafyevo stations and in the Moscow region within the MCD (Prigorod tariff zone), you transfer for free to MCC, metro and MCD.  In 2019, one trip at the Wallet Troika tariff will cost RUB 45.00. The price includes MCD, metro and MCC trips.

If a passenger travels from a station located outside MCD boundaries, the cost of the trip will have two components:  a valid commuter train ticket (RUB 23.00 for one zone to the MCD boundary) plus RUB 45.00. This tariff zone is called Dalnyaya. As soon as you enter the MCD borders, you can transfer for free to the MCC, metro and MCD.
