Metro fare reduction experiment on two lines

November 2

A low tariff experiment is taking place on the Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya and Nekrasovskaya metro lines giving passengers up to a 50-percent discount.

The Early Bird project will last until 2 July 2021. The discount is offered to those who use any station on the violet and rose lines on work days from opening to 7.15 am and from 8.45 to 9.15 am.

Passengers should use their Troika cards (one-, three-, 30-, 90- or 365-days, or 60-trips). The saved funds will then be returned to their Koshelyok ticket. The amount can be verified via the Moscow Metro app.

The experiment is being carried out to reduce the congestion on the Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya line which  is now the busiest in Moscow. Off-peak discounts are expected to help with overcrowding and keep the trains from being delayed.

Inspectors will monitor the experiment results regularly.
