A dry snow ski run has opened in Sokolniki Park, on the 2nd Luchevoi Prosek. You can run it as soon as the air temperature sets at 0°C and below.

The run's surface will be fit for skiing thanks to the state-of-the-art equipment — snow cannons and snowcats used to groom ski slopes. The snow cushion is completely artificial so far, but it will have natural snow, too, over time.

'This ski run is traditionally the first to open in Moscow parks. Fans of this winter sport are welcome to Sokolniki in any weather. Throughout the winter season, the Park will offer ski relays, professional and amateur races and other sporting events,' said the Press Service of Mosgorpark.

All-weather ski run is 1.5 km long, fit for both free and classic skiing. The ski run is to be refreshed daily. Bring your own skis or rent them in the Park (11 Mitkovsky Proyezd).

The run, as well as the entire Sokolniki Park, is open to the public around the clock. The ski rental is open 10:00 am till 09:00 pm on weekdays (sports equipment available until 08:00 pm) and 10:00 am till 08:00 pm on weekends (sports equipment available until 07:00 pm).

The winter season in Moscow parks started on 22 November. 38 rinks, 62 ski runs and 39 slides for sleds, toboggans and snow tubes opened for Muscovites and tourists in the recreation areas.  Besides, they will host festivals, concerts and master classes.

Artificial ice rinks have already opened in 16 parks. Voskhod skating rink opened in Gorky Park,  with space style design. The largest ice rink in Europe welcomes its visitors at VDNKh. Enjoy tubing slides, rent snowmobiles and 4-wheelers, have a husky sled ride, and join much more entertainments the venue has in store.
