For the second year in a row, Moscow is a host city of the Russian Open Breaking Championships to take place at Irina Viner-Usmanova's Gymnastics Palace in Luzhniki Olympic Complex.

On 18 October, 12:00 pm till 04:30 pm, on the eve of the championship, professional dancers — Crumbs and Abstrak (USA), Katsu One (Japan) and Intact (Ukraine) — will hold free break dancing master classes. Prior registration is required.

The champrionship will have two rounds held on two arenas. The program includes eight categories. For example, young participants, children aged 7 to 10, will demonstrate their skills. They will take part both in the Kids Show team category and in individual competitions.

The qualifying rounds will take place on 19 October. The final will be on 20 October, joined by Russian and foreign guests, including teams from France, South Korea, Canada and Ukraine, as well as dancers from Belgium, Germany, Finland, Belarus and Kazakhstan.

An international panel of experts will assess the athletes' performances, with all category winners awarded on the same day.

Also, guests will listen to popular DJs, such as MC Kazak, MC Scream, DJ Legioner and DJ Smirnoff.

Find out the program details, register and buy tickets on the championship's website.

The first Russian Open Breaking Championships took place in Moscow in October 2018, with more than 500 athletes performing.

This year, Muscovites have already had the opportunity to get acquainted with the break dancing culture, and hip-hop, a musical genre that has common origins with this dance. In August and September, at the Rhythm of My City festival, Moscow residents watched acrobatic stunts that seemed to defy basic laws of physics, which is a distinctive break dancing feature.
