Irina Viner-Usmanova's Gymnastics Palace in Luzhniki has won a BISPO Award, the Russian independent award in sports business and effective management of sports projects, as was announced by First Deputy Chairman of the Moscow City Architecture Committee, Moscow's Chief Architect Sergei Kuznetsov.

'I'm certainly happy with the award granted to the Gymnastics Palace. It is a special award, since it was not the architects who took the final decision, but those who have taken advantage of these sports facilities, namely the sports community. Their recognition is of a special value,' said Sergei Kuznetsov.

82 out of 246 projects have been shortlisted for the final. Besides, the jury selected 46 projects and companies in side categories and 9 in special categories.

On 10 December, the nominees showcased their projects in front of an expert jury, with the winners further chosen in all categories. The Gymnastics Palace won in the Best Design for Construction and Reconstruction of Sports Facilities.

Irina Viner-Usmanova's Gymnastics Palace opened in June 2019 to become the largest specialised gymnastics centre in the world, accommodating up to 4,000 spectators. With its ribbon-shaped roof, the entire building has been designed using BIM technologies.

The Palace will both host would-be gymnastics stars’ training sessions and world-class competitions.
