Tourism and travels

The Russpass digital travel service shared ideas how to celebrate New Year in the capital. They may be interesting for those who love active recreation, gastronomic frills, theatre shows, winter exhibitions and calm photowalking in parks. You can find the selection in online-magazine Russpass Mag

If you want to get festive mood, go to the “Journey to Christmas” festival that will run until 9 January. In total, 27 sites decorated in different styles will be opened. For example, you will find a Merchant’s site on the Revolution Square and a Scandinavian site at Novy Arbat Street.

Families with children are offered to ride on a carousel on Red Square, go for toys to the Central children’s store and visit a gallery of designer Christmas trees on Kuznetsky Bridge.

If you prefer outdoor activities you should go skating at the biggest ice rink in Moscow around the Friendship of Peoples fountain at VDNKh. There you can also drink hot tea and listen to a New Year’s playlist of fairy-tales’ songs.

The selection also includes a list of restaurants with a special New Year’s Night program. It will be useful for guests who want to do some holiday shopping for themselves.

Another idea for recreation is to visit old Sanduny baths. Public steam rooms are opened for everyone, and if you want to view the building you can go to a coordinated group excursion.

Russpass is the digital travel service that helps you quickly and easily plan your trip around Russia. Here, you can buy train and air tickets, book a hotel, or a table in a restaurant. It will take just a few clicks to make your personal tours across travel locations or use an existing offer.

There are more than 3.5 thousands of travel offers across regions of Russia on the Russpass today. Free Russpass app is available for iOS or Android.

The project was developed on the initiative of the Moscow Government and is supervised by the Moscow Tourism Committee together with the Moscow Department of Information Technologies.
