Electric buses are to be launched on eight more public transport routes before the end of this year. They will run on bus routes in the centre, West, North-West and South-West of Moscow.

"In June, electric buses started running on route T47 linking Beskudnikovo district and Samotechnaya Square. To date, about 120 electric buses run in nine directions. Еhey carry over 60,000 passengers daily. Through 2019, this innovative transport will run on 17 routes," said Deputy Moscow Mayor, Head of the Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Development Maxim Liksutov.

Moscow has 63 charging stations installed, with their connection to the Moscow power infrastructure is currently in progress. 300 electric buses are expected to be supplied to Moscow by the end of 2019.

Routes to have electric buses through 2019:

— No. 107 Filyovsky Park metro station — Matveyevskaya platform;

— No. 205k Kievsky Railway Station — Dovzhenko Street;

— No. 271 Krylatskoye —  Polezhayevskaya metro station;

— No. 791 Kievsky Railway Station — 4th Setunsky Proyezd;

— No. 832 Krylatskoye — Krylatskoye Sports Centre;

— T7 Park Pobedy metro station — Udarnik cinema;

— Т34k Kravchenko Street — Kievsky Railway Station.

Under the contracts, manufacturers provide a 15-year guarantee for the vehicles and charging stations. They also assume all risks and costs for the purchase of parts and components.

The electric bus can carry 85 passengers and has 30 seats. With their low floor, the ramp and space for boarding/alighting people, electric buses are convenient for everyone, including passengers with disabilities.  There are climate control systems, satellite navigation, USB ports to charge mobile devices, information media screens and free Wi-Fi.  Electric buses are almost silent. They are charged with a pantograph at ultrafast charging points at the route terminal.

Electric buses started to run in Moscow in September 2018. They run the following routes:

— Т36 (from VDNKh to Vagonoremontnaya Street);

— T73 (from VDNKh to the 6th Neighbourhood of Bibirevo;
