Concerts of pop stars and Chinese drummer shows: Journey to Christmas festival in the parks

Journey to Christmas guests are in for performances, concerts, entertaining programs with fairy-tale characters, jugglers, acrobats and magicians, master classes, quizzes, quests and competitions. 13 December till 12 January, festive venues will open in Zaryadye, Krasnaya Presnya, Fili, Sokolniki, Kuzminki, Babushkinsky, Lianozovsky, Izmailovsky parks, and in Olonetsky Proyezd Park.

You are welcome to Journey to Christmas venues in the parks on all festival days, 13 December till 12 January, 03:00 pm till 07:00 pm on weekdays and 01:00 pm till 07:00 pm on weekends and holidays. Participation in all entertaining events on the park grounds is free.

Listen to a concert and learn to make hot winter drinks

Guests are in for dozens of shows by Russian and foreign pop stars held on the stage of Zaryadye Park's big amphitheatre 13 December till 7 January, including Brainstorm, Zdob si Zdub, Mgzavrebi, OQJAV, Cream Soda, Obe Dve, My Michelle, IOWA, Zventa Sventana and many others. Watch the shows in the afternoon (02:00 pm till 03:00 pm) and in the evening (06:00 pm till 07:00 pm).

Krasnaya Presnya Park has many surprises for adults and children in store. Guests will learn about the New Year and Christmas traditions in Russia, make snowmen and play snowballs. Besides, everyone is invited to listen to songs from favourite Soviet films performed by Father Frosts Orchestra, dance, participate in exciting quizzes and learn to make hot winter drinks according to recipes of famous chefs.

Discover China and get inside European fairy tales

Sokolniki Park offers lectures about Chinese culture and history, street theatre performances and Chinese drummer shows. Attend dance master classes for children and adults, crafts workshops to make lanterns, fans and a Chinese dragon, and participate in the quest 'Saving the New Year Party'.

Plunge into European fairy tales in Kuzminki Park. Each week of the festival will be dedicated to a certain fairy tale to tell about Christmas folklore of the peoples of Europe. Besides, young guests are in for winter entertainments, handicrafts workshops to create a shadow theatre and fancy Christmas toys, as well as an exciting 'Christmas Thief' quest to look for the missing Christmas gifts together with the host. The festive program also includes ice shows and concerts.

Continue your journey through Europe in Olonetsky Proyezd Park. Watch puppet and immersive performances, listen to lectures about Christmas traditions in Europe, join figure skating master classes, games and sporting competitions, and try delicious food.

Visitors to Babushkinsky Park will find themselves in a fairy tale land. You will learn to make Christmas cards and Christmas toys at crafts workshops, decorate character masks and make gifts. The local skating rink offers figure skating master classes, games and competitions.

In Fili Park, magic Christmas characters will welcome guests. They will offer to take part in merry circles dances, master classes, competitions, games and traditional Christmas fun, as well as try delicious treats and buy unique souvenirs for your loved ones.

Izmailovsky Park's festival program includes cover band performances and life-size puppet shows, crafts and cooking master classes, tug-of-war, sack racing and other Russian traditional entertainments, as well as sporting competitions and quests.

Lianozovsky Park guests will see life-size puppets, take part in street theatre performances, watch music band shows. Moreover, you can take a great photo in the light tunnel and by the vintage Christmas tree.

This year, Journey to Christmas festival will run 13 December till 12 January in all Moscow districts. The main festivities will take place on Manezhnaya Square, Novy Arbat Street, VDNKh and Tverskoi Boulevard. The venues are to open daily, 11:00 am till 09:00 pm on weekdays, 10:00 am till 10:00 pm on weekends and holidays.

The festival will offer beautiful Christmas trees and magic light installations, ice shows, theatrical performances and concerts, as well as crafts and sporting master classes. You are welcome to learn playing curling or snowboarding. A plenty of chalets will sell souvenirs and special winter treats.

Last winter, the record-breaking 18.6 million guests attended Journey to Christmas to make it the largest festival in Europe. Some 90,000 participants joined its annual quest and got about 85,000 gifts, including cinema tickets, fashion accessories and sweets.
