19 parks of the Moscow Department of Culture have prepared festive programmes to celebrate the International Children's Day. On 1 June, bright shows, concerts, free master classes, insightful lectures and sports games will be arranged in the city recreation areas for everyone.

Cryo show and stilt-walker performances

Perovsky Park invites fans of scientific experiments  to attend a special festivity event. On 1 June, at 03:00 pm, the central park's square will host an amazing cryo show engaging liquid nitrogen, dry ice and gas. It will be conducted by a chemistry professor. The Park will also have a chemical laboratory photo zone with test tubes and microscopes. The musical entertaining programme will offer a children's choir concert. In addition, visitors may watch the performance of kenpo masters (Japanese martial art), and take part in chess competitions.

Babushkinsky Park will celebrate the International Children's Day with a big musical performance. In the green theatre's main stage in the centre of the Park, you will hear classical music pieces, jazz and rock'n'roll performed by the winners of international music competitions and students of the Sviridov Children's Music School. Besides, Park visitors will watch a musical based on the popular 'Frozen' animated film.

In Park Pobedy on Poklonnaya Gora, Moscow residents will see a stilt walker show and have an opportunity to participate in various relay races and competitions. Guests are to meet at the children's playground at the entrance to the park. Handmade workshops for adults and children will show how to make bead bracelets, hairpins and cardboard postcards. Bubble Show will entertain the youngest visitors.

Bast shoes race and zumba

Two sites in Mitino Landscape Park will host festive events — a sports ground and a dance floor. On Arkheologicheskaya Square, guests will compete in a tug-of-war and play hockey in giant inflatable costumes. And for the most hardy ones, the Park has prepared a race in bast shoes available on the spot.

Festivalnaya Square of the Park will host performances of Darlinka, a dance theatre. Feel free to learn some hip-hop, zumba and jazz-funk moves under the guidance of experienced dancers.

On 1 June, a master class on painting T-shirts with acrylic paints is scheduled in Zaryadye Park's meadow. The T-shirts (you may keep them after the master class is over) and paints will be given to all the participants for free. The class will be conducted by professional artists. The stage of Zaryadye’s big amphitheatre will host a musical fairy tale 'Winnie the Pooh' performed by actors of the Moscow Regional State Theatre for Young Audiences. Guests will also enjoy a festive anniversary performance of the Children's Variety Theatre.

Put on your fancy dress and plant greens and vegetables in children's garden

On 1 June, Fili Park will hold a competition of the most unusual fancy dresses for adults and children. Contestants in bright outfits will meet at the central entrance to the park, and then will parade towards the main park's stage. The winners will be chosen by the audience by applauding for their favourites. Throughout the day, the Park will be hosting concerts of children's bands, workshops on drawing and making various souvenirs.  Every child will have an ice cream for free.

On 1 June, the Lilac Garden invites Moscow residents to plant a children's decorative vegetable garden. On the vegetable patch near the playground, you may plant sweet peas, marigolds, ornamental kales and beans, pumpkins, chard (a beet variety) and perilla (ornamental plant). Children who are to spend their summer in Moscow will have an opportunity to observe flowers and vegetables growing on the patch.
