Celebration goes on: over 50 Journey to Christmas venues are to be open until the late January

Over 50 Journey to Christmas venues are to be open through 31 January. So, this season the citywide holiday will last 50 days.

You will find festival venues both in the Moscow centre and in other districts, open 11:00 am till 09:00 pm on weekdays, 10:00 am till 10:00 pm on weekends.

Ice theatres on Revolyutsii Square and Novopushkinsky public garden still run spectacular shows on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Besides, you are welcome to skate on this and other 13 festival rinks any day.

The festival’s chief sports grounds will be open too: play curling in Shkolnaya Street and learn to snowboard in Novy Arbat Street, next to building 21.

Workshops will run at most venues 05:00 pm till 06:45 pm on weekdays and 01:00 pm till 06:45 pm on weekends. Dmitriya Donskogo Boulevard and Slavy Square will continue master classes to make a roast beef according to a Latvian recipe, German Stollen pie and other foods.

Join the cooking school on Yunosti Square in Zelenograd to make Austrian and Lithuanian culinary hits. The venue in the boulevard area of the 16th Neighbourhood will be about Scandinavian cuisine.

On Sirenevy Boulevard in Troitsk, guests will make Viennese waffles and Danish Christmas doughnuts, make multi-layer smørrebrød sandwiches and tangerine mousse. Join cooking classes in Matveyevskaya and Profsoyuznaya streets to learn how to make dried fruit compote, French quiche and Russian open fish pies.

Visit the culinary studio on Orekhovy Boulevard to cook hot foods, sweets and drinks according to European recipes. Crafts workshop chalets will introduce you to the art and architecture of Austria and the Czech Republic. Also, you will make Christmas tree balls based on paintings by prominent artists, and fairy-tale houses. Rozhdestvenka Street will offer to make unusual Christmas balls and create your own tabletop theatre with decorations and characters.

Next to Sergei Yesenin monument on Tverskoi Boulevard, you will find a venue to make ornaments based on Van Gogh, Bruegel and Magritte paintings. Learn to make decorative lamps in the New Year's Lab (a chalet next to Kliment Timiryazev monument). This is where you can also learn about robotics.

Join master classes to make home and festive table décor in the public garden near Golyanovsky Pond and Khachaturyana Street. Classes in Mitinskaya Street will be about bright postcards and watercolour landscapes.

Svyatoozyorskaya Street offers festival carpentry workshops to make wooden Christmas angels, candlesticks, trays and other interior design accessories.

Make candy garlands and illustrate fairy tales at 16A/4 Leningradskoye Highway (next to the Shopping Mall).

Apart from craft workshops, Kamergersky Pereulok will host interactive performances about European winter holidays traditions.

Also, guests are in for shows by performance groups staged on the district Journey to Christmas venues 06:00 pm till 07:00 pm on weekdays, 05:00 pm till 07:00 pm on weekends.
