On the Marc Chagall embankment at the Danilovsky district, the construction of berth and ramps to the river is underway. Andrey Bochkarev, deputy Moscow Mayor for urban development policy and construction, spoke about this. Experts have already improved the section of the embankment from Likhachev Avenue to Lev Yudin street.

“Today, on the territory of the former ZIL industrial zone, active work is underway to construct the road network. One of the key sites, which will simultaneously perform both transport and recreational functions, will be the Marc Chagall embankment”, Andrey Bochkarev said.

The berth and rumps to the water will be equipped with beacons and video surveillance systems, said Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, an organization participating in the project.  “Five beacons were already installed, their power supply is near completion,” he said.

Embankments in Moscow are built according to new rules — with a significant setback with the river line. This makes it possible to create a high-quality public space near the water for recreation, sports and walking.

The reconstruction of the Marc Chagall embankment started in March 2019. It will become part of the green belt of parks of the former ZIL industrial zone, directly connected with the territory of residential areas.
