By the end of autumn, some 100 races will take place in Moscow parks, with most of them being free. Some competitions are charitable, so you have to make a donation to join.

All proceeds from the slot sale (tickets to join the event) will go to orphans, seriously ill children, social entrepreneurs and scientists researching new cancer treatments. The races will take place in 12 parks of the Moscow Department of Culture.

‘Training outdoors is much more effective and enjoyable than indoors. Cool autumn air is not a reason to give up sports. All sports fans are welcome to join the mass 2.5 to 15 km long races in the parks of Moscow. We recommend wearing waterproof warm clothes and ribbed shoes,’ the Press Service of Mosgorpark said.

Eleven parks invite to take part in races every Saturday, 09:00 am. Participation is free, but prior registration is required. Athletes are to cover a 5km long distance.

Some races will be paid. Izmailovsky Park will have a paid race on 5 October at 11:00 am. Participants can choose different distances, 2.5 to 10 km. The funds raised will go to charity.

Those who prefer unusual running routes are welcome to Mitino Landscape Park. The athletes will enjoy picturesque views while running along several steep ups and downs. The race will start on 20 October at 09:00 am, participation is paid.

Register for all autumn races on the parks' websites and on Mosgorpark's pages in social media.

There are also green races held in Moscow parks, with participants collecting plastic and glass bottles, cans, paper wrappers, plastic bags, etc. along their way. To pick up trash, runners have to bend or squat, and that provides additional exertion. Such race takes much effort, it is both entertaining and useful. On 14 September, green races took place in Kuzminki, Borisovskiye Ponds, 850-Letiya Moskvy Park, and Tsaritsyno Museum Reserve.
