A plant for the production of oncologic drugs appears in Technopolis Moscow

The first stage of a new pharmaceutical complex has been put into operation on the territory of the Special economic zone (SEZ) Technopolis Moscow. Investments in the implementation of the project at this stage amounted to more than a billion rubles, Vladimir Efimov Deputy Moscow Mayor for Economic Policy and Property and Land Relations, said.

"The company will produce about 120 types of drugs for the treatment of neurological and oncological diseases. The declared volume of products is up to 100 million packages of various dosage forms annually. The SEZ resident plans to start manufacturing the first batches of medicines in August of this year, and bring production to full capacity in the second quarter of 2022. Investments in the project have already exceeded one billion rubles. The company will also create 260 jobs," the Deputy Mayor said.

Now the main construction and installation works have been completed at the site, preparations are underway for the installation of technological equipment and commissioning.

"At the first stage of construction, the complex occupies 3.4 thousand square meters. After the second stage, the territory of the enterprise will increase to 5.5 thousand square meters, and the area of ‘clean rooms’ will be 1.8 thousand square meters. The complex includes its own R&D center and a microbiological laboratory for the development of new drugs," Alexander Prokhorov, Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy of Moscow.

The resident of the SEZ ‘Moscow' , in association with partner organizations, plans to combine efforts to produce drugs of social importance that are not manufactured in Russia, including drugs to treat cancer. Most of the drugs will be sent to municipal medical institutions of the country as part of state orders.

According to Gennady Degtev, General Director of the SEZ Technopolis Moscow, the status of the technopark resident allows enterprises to save annually on taxes and other mandatory payments.

"Companies get access to duty-free imports, a zero rate on property and transport, as well as a preferential rate on profits. The released funds of the enterprise, localized in the SEZ Technopolis Moscow, will be invested in the development of production," he added.

The Special Economic Zone Technopolis Moscow includes five sites with a total area of 223.3 hectares: one - in Pechatniki and four - in Zelenograd (Alabushevo, Mikron, MIET and Angstrem). At the moment, more than 180 high-tech companies are concentrated on the territory of the SEZ.
