38 new traffic routes appear in the Central Administrative District and the Southern Administrative District in November

October 12

In November, 38 new land traffic routes will start operating on the territory of the CAD and SAD. They will improve transport accessibility for 1.9 million Muscovites, Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Moscow Mayor for Transport, said.

"38 new traffic routes will operate in these districts, passing through all the main highways hereof: Kashirskoe Highway, Lipetskaya Street, Podolskikh Kursantov Street, Balaklavsky Prospekt, Nakhimovsky Prospekt and many others," Maxim Liksutov explained.

He added that passengers will lose less time waiting for transport, and this will reduce the total travel time by 30-40 percent.

In addition, 56 new stops will appear in the center and south of the capital. Some of them will provide convenient changes between routes, and the rest will cover urban points of attraction. For example, a stop at the intersection of Orekhovy Boulevard and Borisovsky Proezd, in addition to a convenient change, will shorten the way to the shopping center.

Traffic routes will change the transport situation in Biryulyovo Zapadnoye. Previously, public transport with an interval of up to 10 minutes went only in the center of the district along Medynskaya Street. Now the main traffic routes will also pass through the block at the Biryulyovo-Tovarnaya platform, which will cover the entire area with buses that will run more often.

The transport situation in Orekhovo-Borisovo will also seriously improve. Previously, buses with an interval of less than 10 minutes ran only along Kashirskoye Highway. Now they will cover Shipilovskaya Street and Orekhovy Boulevard, and the waiting time at the stops will be reduced by 2-2.5 times.

Maxim Liksutov also noted that in 2022 the city authorities plan to update the route network throughout Moscow. The next areas, where new traffic routes will appear, will be the Southern-Western and Western Administrative Districts.
