October 12, 2019

Kremlin Cup International Tennis Tournament will run in Moscow 12-20 October. The organisers have brought together one of the strongest teams in the history of the competition. This year, we are having the 30th tournament.

At Krylatskoye Ice Palace, sports fans are going to see some of the TOP 10 world players, such as Daniil Medvedev, Karen Khachanov and Andrei Rublyov.   The winners and finalists of previous tournaments will also take the courts, including Marin Čilić, Andreas Seppi, Adrian Mannarino and Mikhail Kukushkin.

'Traditionally, we always strive to provide favourable tournament conditions for both acclaimed and young players. To date, our guys have made it to the elite of the world tennis, with Rublyov approaching TOP 20. A great achievement of Russian tennis! As for foreign players, Marin Čilić surely stands out. The tournament promises to be outstanding,' said Shamil Tarpishchev, President of the Russian Tennis Federation.

Women participants include Elina Svitolina (Ukraine), who is now the third in the world ranking, two Grand Slam winners Simona Halep and Petra Kvitová, and the current Moscow Tournament champion Daria Kasatkina.

Three more Russian athletes are to perform in the main draw, namely Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, who has recently reached the WTA final in Osaka, Veronika Kudermetova, who joined the TOP 50 this season, and Ekaterina Alexandrova, who is demonstrating the best season results in her career (No. 38 WTA Rankings).

The first Kremlin Cup took place on 5 November 1990. It is the only tennis competition played simultaneously by men and women on indoor courts. In 2018, more than 81,500 spectators attended the competition.
