About the festival

A traditional gastronomic festival on the streets of Moscow! Across the city, there will chalets where you can purchase fish and seafood directly from leading suppliers, representing different parts of Russia.

The exciting programme also features special menus, masterclasses, concerts and sport events. Professional and amateur fishermen will have the chance to demonstrate their skills in three open fishing competition. And for anyone who’s willing, there’s the opportunity to take part in a Paddle-Board regatta.

Fishing championships

Recharge your batteries with positivity, try out a new hobby or spend time with family — you can do it all by joining in with the festival.

A huge fishing event will take place in Gorky Park on May 27. Beginners will be taught some of the secret skills of angling. Fishing rods and tackle will be available at the venue which will also feature recreational zones and prizes for participating.

Professionals and amateur fishing championships will be held on June 2, 3 and 4 at Golyanovskiy pond and Kolomenskaya embankment, two of Moscow’s most popular fishing sites. Experienced anglers are invited to take part in the morning while the evening sessions are open to all. To gain the top awards, competitors must register and be familiar with the tournament rules.

Masterclasses

Watch gastronomic chef battles and learn the secrets of cooking perfect fish and seafood dishes for adults. There are also special classes for children keen to help their parents in the kitchen. All festival cooking workshops are open to Muscovites and visitors of all ages. And it’s not just about food, there’s also a painting workshop, the chance to explore origami art or even pick up professional tips from members of the Russian Fishermen’s Association.

Chefs from top Moscow restaurants will share their special recipes and secrets for preparing fish dishes.
For the young cook
All young guests can learn to decorate biscuits glazed with coloured icing, and how to make marzipan figures.
Painting studio
Lessons in Acrylic painting and sketching with guidance from experienced Art Professors.
Physical exercise
Beginners and experienced sportsmen alike are invited to train, warm up and discover new exercises to give their bodies, and minds, a boost!
Artistic groups
Singers, actors, musicians and dancers will perform on the festival’s stages with a new band appearing on every day of the festival.
Angler´s secrets
Professional anglers will share their secrets and offer novice fishermen tips advice and they’ll be on hand to answer questions from guests.

Where there are fish, there are water activities! Anyone who knows about Paddle-boarding, and are confident in their abilities, are invited to enter the competition and Moscow Fish Week Festival will also feature an amateur costume swim.

To take part in the regatta, just register, read the contest rules and costume requirements. Great prizes will be awarded to the winners, and everyone who takes part will benefit from a wonderful energy boost and have a really great time!

Fish markets and menus

More than 500 varieties of fish will be available in the capital’s centre and from trade chalets in all festival venues. All produce is brought in by leading suppliers from the Far East; Yakutia, Murmansk, Astrakhan, the Black Sea coast, as well as from other countries bordering Russia and in the Pacific.

Many of Moscow’s restaurants have put together special fish menus for the festival, while 3,000 partner-shops will offer discounts on fish related products.
