'Salvador Dalí. Magic Art' in Manege

'Salvador Dalí. Magic Art', the biggest exhibition of the great Catalan Russia ever saw, opened on 28 January in Manege.

Link of Times Cultural and Historical Foundation and the Fabergé Museum in collaboration with the Moscow Department of Culture continue a series of the exhibitions of the 20th century's renowned artists. 'Viva la Vida. Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera' retrospective was the first one.

The new exhibition tracing the artistic journey of one of the most extraordinary artists of the last century, represents over 180 works created by the master in different years. The paintings have been granted by the Fundació Gala-Salvador Dalí, the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, and European collectors. Two masterpieces will be displayed in Russia for the first time.

'The biggest challenge was to bring together all these works at one time in one place. Initially, there were about 70 exhibits, but after long negotiations with museums, we had managed to increase the number to 180. Their transportation was another issue, as one could not move the entire collection by one vehicle at a time. We had to divide it into three parts. Moved to the exhibition hall, the paintings had to stay for some time in their trunks, with the required temperature and humidity carefully monitored as one of the key museums' requirements,' said Vladimir Voronchenko, Director of the Fabergé Museum, the exhibition's organiser.

The exhibition will be opened until March 25.
