Main Exposition of The Tretyakov Gallery

State Tretyakov Gallery, art museum in Moscow, was founded in 1856 by merchant Pavel Tretyakov. The museum has one of the biggest in the world collection of the Russian fine arts. Building of Tretyakov Gallery on Lavrushinsky Lane is a historical one, here visitors can see over 1300 works of the Russian art of XI — early XX centuries: from pre-Mongol icons and historical painting, including such epoch-making masterpieces as Trinity by Andrey Rublev and Christ's Appearance to the People by Alexander Ivanov. The art of great artists Surikov, Vereshchagin, Repin, Serov et al. are represented in many ways.
