'Giselle' at Mosconcert Hall

Moscow Ballet La Classique presents 'Giselle' to be staged at Mosconcert Hall.

'Giselle' is one of the most mysterious and romantic ballets in the world, with half of the story set at a cemetery. This acclaimed choreography masterpiece has been popular around the world for almost 180 years.

Music by Adolphe Adam (France). Libretto by novelists Théophile Gautier and Jules-Henri de Saint-Georges. Choreography by Jean Coralli, Jules Perrault and Marius Petipa. Mosconcert Hall will show the choreographic version by Mikhail Lavrovsky.

'Giselle' premiered in Paris in 1841. A year later, it was staged in St. Petersburg, and then in Moscow. Since then, the ballet has been running on the Russian stage for a long time, with its main part highlighting the repertoire of almost all prima ballerinas of the Bolshoi Theatre, including Marina Semyonova, Galina Ulanova, Marina Kondratiyeva, Yekaterina Maksimova, Natalya Bessmertnova and Lyudmila Semenyaka.
