The end of quarantine: Moscow museums are opening

Moscow museums have been closed since the mid March because of the coronavirus outbreak. Finally, they are opening. Not all of them, thought. Here are the already accessible ones.

Garage Museum of Contemporary Art opened safely last week and extended current exhibitions. Come to see “Sekretiki”, Atelier E.B. Passer-by and Monika Sosnkwska’s sculpture Exercises in Construction, Bending, which is in Atrium. There is also a new project, Yerbossian Yldibekov’s Transformer.

Moscow Museum of Modern Art (MMOMA) already opened its doors to the public on Gogolevsky Boulevard and is launching a new exhibition! A series of exhibitions, actually. «Remebering APTART» focuses on one of the most important phenomena of the Soviet underground scene — a self-organized group APTART, which was active from 1982 to 1984 and worked in the apartment of the artist Nikita Alekseev. Come and see from June 23!

Museum of Moscow currently has two exhibitions you can visit. The traditional “Moscow History for kids and adults” and not so traditional but yet popular “Ostozhenka: project in project”. Welcome!

Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy (VDNH) is also waiting for guests. Come and visit VGNH museum, Center for Cyrillic “Slovo”, Cosmonautics and Aviation Centre, Interactive Museum Complex “Buran”, “Moskvarium” and other sights.

Missing poetry? Come to Pushkin museum! Since June 23 it also launches a new exhibition “The Wartime Moscow in Tatiana Mavrina’s paintings”. It has no connection to famous russian poet, but still is very interesting.

You can check the whole list of already opened Moscow museums here. Until July 1 its number to increase up to 70.

When going to museum, don’t forget your face covering. Safety fist! So gloves are also welcomed.
