Tales of the Grimm Brothers

On Orekhovy Boulevard, you will get into the world of Grimms' fairy tales — such as people imagined it in the XIX century.

Hansel and Gretel, Little Red Riding Hood, Tom Thumb and other fairy-tale characters will come to life in puppet shows accompanied by the live music. Adults and children can create their own dolls from fabrics and threads!

In the cozy playing pavilion, everyone will play medieval board games, in the company of a connoisseur of ancient entertainment, hunter Humbert. Alkerk, Mill, Tavlei, Fox and Geese, dice and other then popular games will help the guests to test their wits and luck.

Culinary school will share with recipes of festive meals from Russia and other countries. Guided by masters, here you can learn to cook fragrant Danish pie with apples, hearty Viennese schnitzel, traditional Latvian roast beef, original honey cakes and custard cake Vetsriga with tender cottage cheese.

Th Latvian cuisine is presented at the master classes with the recipe of fluffy dessert Buberts from cottage cheese and semolina, and German cuisine — with pies stollen. Also, experienced chefs offer to learn cooking of winter festive drinks that warm in snowy evenings and give a good mood to any company: berry Russian sbiten, the traditional uzvar, French cruchon or original Christmas drink.

Creative master classes will be interesting for those who like to make gifts with their own hands and are always ready to discover new countries and traditions. Here you will see how to make a traditional ball for a festive Christmas tree in different styles: Danish Gothic and Romanesque architecture, impressionism, Dutch Renaissance.

On the street, the reenactors will invite everyone to play Klyushkovanie (a prototype of modern hockey) and Kubb (an old German game, like Russian gorodki). Guests can participate in mock “fights on bags” and to rise on stilts!

Street fun takes place daily, from 01:00 PM to 04:00 PM.
