Renaissance Fair: A Village Christmas on Gorodetskaya Street

At this venue, festival guests can learn how medieval European peasants and artisans celebrated their winter holidays from the 8th to the 15th Centuries.

In the crafts house, you can write Christmas wishes with a quill pen and ink, mint coins, try your hand at spinning and weaving, get acquainted with pottery and shoemaking, apply intricate patterns to fabrics, make scented soap and candles with the help of fragrant herbs and flowers, and uncover the secrets of medieval medicine. And in the peasant yard, you can learn to cook dishes that were popular in the Middle Ages, and even try them!

Meanwhile, on the venue stage, musicians will be performing ancient Russian and European music, and actors from the Mysterion Theater will put on Christmas plays similar to those staged by wandering artists many centuries ago. Stilt and tightrope walkers, as well as mimes, will also be on hand to perform for visitors!

Active visitors won’t find this venue boring either, as you can play a variety of outdoor games from many centuries ago every day from 1 to 4 pm. Among the favorites is a game called ‘hats’, as well as horseshoes and sack fighting.
