Reconstruction of Battle of Berezina

In Izmailovsky Park, art objects and dramatized scenes will help to recreate one of the final battles of the Patriotic War of 1812 — Battle of Berezina.



Guests will see an art object in the form of the most popular military order of the Russian Empire — Order of St. George, which was established by Catherine II on November 26, 1769. On its pedestal, there are displayed guns of 1808 model and 12-pounder cannon — one of the symbols of the Russian army, widely used in the war of 1812. Art object Crossing Berezina river and interactive programs of the reenactors will help the guests to know about the final battle of the Patriotic War 1812, flight of Napoleon and defeat of the remnants of the great army.
