'Proto-signs' at the 21st Century Gallery

21st Century Gallery is opening the exhibition 'Proto-signs' by Nikolai Selivanov.

'Proto-sign' is a concept to describe an artwork without words. A proto-sign cannot be fully understood, but one can only perceive its meaning.

The exhibition presents objects made of wood and metal, plastic and felt, bread and wax. Nikolai Selivanov contrasts two technological epochs — pre-industrial, ancient and post-industrial, and modern. The exhibition shows how different ways of processing materials create different artistic meanings.

Full ticket — RUB 100, discount ticket — RUB 50.
