Jewellery Craftsmanship. Traditions and Modernity at the New Manege

9 to 20 October, the New Manege will run an exhibition of jewellery and decorative arts Jewellery Craftsmanship. Traditions and Modernity. Three halls will host a display telling about the development of Russian jewellery for three centuries — from the 18th century to the present day. 

By the late 19th century, Russia was an indisputable jewellery leader. The works of goldsmiths and silversmiths of the late 18th—20th centuries, monuments of numismatics, phaleristics and medal art presented at the exhibition convey the spirit of their time, show the experience of Russian masters of the past. They are priceless as historical cultural heritage.

The exhibition will present more than 220 unique items from the collection of the State Fund of Precious Metals and Precious Stones of the Russian Federation.

Visitors will get acquainted with the jewellery by Fabergé, Ovchinnikov, Khlebnikov companies exhibited for the first time.

The section of modern jewellery art boasts 200 works by best masters — winners of Russia. 21st Century jewellery competition.

Also, the exhibition will show Damascus and bulat steel and titanium weapons, stone and bone processing products, watchmaking masterpieces by Russian masters.

Besides, you will view a unique collection of full-colour ultra-realistic holograms of the Diamond Fund, which is prohibited to leave the Moscow Kremlin.

The exhibition will include daily lectures and meetings with authors and representatives of the jewellery industry, as well as tours in Russian, English, Spanish and other languages. Find a detailed schedule on the website
