daily, starting at 12pm

The exhibition presents the sketches of outstanding stage designers and many other captivating objects. The new exposition of the Reader’s Museum of the Russian State Library of Arts (RSLA) reveals interesting details of the library's creative union with the notable figures of ballet. Over the years, its funds have been used by the researchers of the ballet art: Yu.I. Slonimsky and V.M. Krasovskaya, ballet masters L.V. Yakobson and A.V. Chichinadze, ballerinas M.T. Semenova and M.M. Plisetskaya. This tradition continues today with dancers V.V. Vasilyev and B.B. Akimov, ballet masters Yu.N. Grigorovich and A.M. Liepa, artists B.A. Messerer and V.A. Volsky. RSLA always welcomes new readers and friends, from students to recognized masters, providing the fullest possible research material, and advising on the most difficult issues.
The exposition displays rare items reflecting the participation of the library in the works of its readers. Among the exhibits are sketches of costumes made by outstanding stage designers, signed photos of the brightest artists of the Russian classical ballet, rare editions and other archive documents from the funds of RSLA.
