Christmas in The Castle of a Medieval Feudal Lord and Ice Shows

Christmas was one of the main holidays in the culture of medieval Europe, and all classes celebrated it. The nobility of those times was no exception! At the venue of Journey to Christmas festival, guests will learn traditions and everyday life of the upper class — feudal lords and their entourage.

So, for example, here you can feel like a “medieval feudal lord” and take a photo for memory surrounded by expensive armor, with a crown on your head and a sword or a cup in your hands that a “loving subject” will give you!

Also, you can cook viands for “magnificent feast”, make festive candles and Christmas fir wreaths, decorate a fabric with a colorful stuffing, participate in “hunting” (bow shooting on stylized targets) and play various board games.

In the Middle Ages, people who understood the properties of the healing herbs and could make ointments and tinctures, enjoyed a great honor. Try yourself in the role of one of these herbalists, and reenactors will help you. They will explain the properties of natural herbs and features of their use in the Middle ages, share with the preserved descriptions and allow you make a healing collection by yourself.

The castle vicinity will be interesting as well. All those, who just going by, will find what to do: for example, here you can compete with your friend in the sword play or play the medieval game Kubb.

On the stage, you will see reconstructions of the ancient Christmas performances, listen to the authentic musical instruments of the Middle Ages and see spectacular circus shows by stilt-walkers and jugglers from the Amigo team.

And the most interesting! On the rink of this venue, every day, you can not only skate, but also watch incredible ice ballets

staged by five-time U.S. Champion and two-time winner of The Four Continents Figure Skating Championships ice dancer Peter Chernyshev. The Nutcracker, Cinderella, Cipollino and The Princess Frog performed by professional skaters will not leave indifferent neither adults nor children. Each show lasts about one hour.
